Fire from every perspective: rotatable, compact stove cube
The BRUNNER swivel-mount fireplace creates a fire atmosphere from more than just one angle, optionally with heat storage for delayed heating. It offers exactly the technology needed for optimal heating performance, without having to give up the view of the fire from every perspective. The square stove cube can be rotated by 90° and is no gimmick, but a genuine wood-burning insert designed for traditional stove construction. Oversized viewing panels are intentionally avoided in favor of more even heat distribution, yet the mesmerizing view of the flames remains ever-present.

The features of the
swivel-mount fireplace
- 1. Fire door
Flush-fitting with integrated double glazing (hinged on the left).
- 2. Heat storage
The swivel-mount fireplace can be configured either as a warm air stove or as a storage stove with radiant heat.
- 3. Exceptional design
Visually, the swivel-mount fireplace is highly appealing, offering slow, comfortable heat distribution and outstanding durability. The niche cladding is available in two versions: one for a uniformly enclosing stove casing, and one with a recessed upper section. For custom-built designs, the stove can also be installed without niche cladding.
- 4. Detachable handle for door and rotation
The cube of the swivel-mount fireplace, supported at the top and bottom, has an edge length of 50 centimeters and can be rotated manually in any desired viewing direction using a swivel bearing. Installation and removal of the rotating cube by the stove builder are simple and highly flexible. The possible rotation angle depends on the construction and can be individually adjusted up to 235 degrees. A detachable handle is placed in the designated socket for manual operation. There is also an optional motorized version with a simple remote control – not essential, but certainly enjoyable to use.
- 5. Made of solid cast iron
The rotatable BRUNNER wood-burning inserts are made of durable, high-quality cast iron – the most robust material used in heating technology. It allows for a virtually stress-free and warp-resistant firebox construction that withstands high thermal loads. This makes it the ideal solution for ensuring reliable operation over decades. Issues such as scaling, which can occur with simple sheet steel and reduce its lifespan, do not arise with cast iron.
- 6. Combustion air lever
The combustion chamber provides the ideal conditions for burning natural wood with low emissions, provided that wood quality and operation are right. With the BRUNNER stove control, even the swivel-mount fireplace can be operated effortlessly and precisely. The most convenient version combines it with the electronic combustion control (EAS). You only need to light the fire and add wood – everything else is managed automatically. The result is optimal efficiency and long ember retention times, as the EAS actuator never forgets to readjust or close the air supply after combustion has ended. This is especially convenient when you cannot continue to operate the stove after lighting it, for example when leaving the house or going to bed.
- 7. Base
Made of concrete insulation and base blocks (MSSI)
- 8. Support frame profile
C-beam
- 9. Flue gas pipe
For connection to a ceramic or metallic heat storage surface
- 10. Axis
Visually concealed, with bearings at the bottom.
- 11. Support frame
with adjustable feet
- 12. Niche cladding
6 mm steel panels on the rear wall, top and bottom.
The possible stove systems

The swivel-mount fireplace as a warm air stove: the “quick-response stove”
In this configuration, it primarily serves as a visual feature, providing fire atmosphere and quick warmth throughout the installation space. In warm air stoves, room air flows along the combustion chamber and the metallic heat exchanger surface, heating up rapidly and then being released into the living space through warm air vents. Heat output peaks during the combustion phase, as heat storage mass is limited to the stove casing of the tiled stove. Once the combustion ends, the heat output decreases noticeably and the warm air stove cools down.
This concept is used where high heating performance is required, for example in older buildings or large rooms.

The swivel-mount fireplace as a storage stove: the “slow-response stove”
Radiant heat is the most pleasant form of heat transfer. In a storage stove, the heat is stored in the 200 to 400 kilogram ceramic heat storage mass and slowly released through the stove’s surface. This prevents high output peaks and excessive temperature fluctuations in the room. Depending on the amount of storage mass, a tiled stove requires a correspondingly longer heating-up time. Once the combustion is complete, the stored heat continues to provide comfortable warmth to the room.
This concept is the ideal solution when low, consistent, and long-lasting heat output is required, such as in a low-energy house.

FAQ Swivel-mount fireplace
- In which versions is the rotating fire available?
The BRUNNER rotating fire can be designed either as a fireplace or as a tiled stove. As a fireplace, it mainly serves as a visual highlight, offering a warm fire atmosphere and quick heat visible from every angle in the room. As a tiled stove system with ceramic flues, it also provides pleasant radiant heat that lasts for hours. A true feast for the eyes — practical, versatile and full of function.
- Why is the rotating fire made of cast iron?
Of course, a stove body like that of the BRUNNER Rotating Fire DF 33 could also be made of simple steel, mainly for cost reasons. But the philosophy behind cast iron perfectly matches the demands of modern living spaces. Visually appealing, it provides slow, comfortable heat distribution and exceptional durability — advantages that other metals simply can’t offer.
- What is the BRUNNER rotating fire?
Without giving up the view of the fire from any angle, the BRUNNER Rotating Fire DF 33 offers the perfect technology for optimal heating performance. The square stove body can be rotated 90 degrees, allowing it to face the viewer at any time. Instead of using oversized glass panels, the DF 33 focuses on balanced, even heat distribution.
The BRUNNER Rotating Fire can be designed either as a warm air stove or as a storage stove with radiant heat — depending on your personal preference and heating needs.
