BRUNNER extended warranty
for stoves and fireplaces

1. Requirements for the BRUNNER extended warranty

  • The product must be installed by a professional company¹ according to the manufacturer’s specifications and professional standards
  • The product must be used according to the operating instructions
  • The BRUNNER extended warranty only applies to BRUNNER products purchased through official distribution channels and approved and authorized for the destination country. The BRUNNER warranty is valid and enforceable only in the country where the product was purchased. This requires that the BRUNNER product was intended for sale in that country
  • The BRUNNER product must be registered within the first three months after commissioning

When registering the product, device information and your address are electronically stored in a so-called product file. Based on this information, we can quickly respond to customer service inquiries or easily supply the correct replacement parts even many years later.

We assure you that this data is used exclusively for the purpose of the BRUNNER warranty and will not be shared with third parties.

2. What is included in the BRUNNER extended warranty coverage?

  • Free replacement of cast iron and steel parts not exposed to direct thermal stress (manufacturing and material defects)
  • No warranty for damage caused by overloading, external force, wear, or tear⁴
  • Warranty ends after 2, 5, or 10 years, depending on the product component
  • Replacing a component does not extend the warranty period
  • Costs for installation and removal are not covered by the BRUNNER extended warranty. It only applies to the component itself.

3. Warranty coverage

  • Cast iron components not exposed to direct thermal stress
  • Steel components not exposed to direct thermal stress
  • Boiler attachments and bodies
  • Doors made of steel and cast iron
  • Gas fireplaces (body)
  • Electronics, gas control block, and burner
  • Combustion chamber linings and components exposed to fire in the combustion chamber (e.g., metal plates, deflection plates, fireclay²,⁷)
  • Viewing glass³
  • Mechanical and electrical parts of BRUNNER heating inserts
  • Elements of the heat-resistant concrete casing⁵ or raw steel casing⁶
  • Catalyst converter

4. Start of the BRUNNER extended warranty

The BRUNNER extended warranty starts from the date of purchase or commissioning, or from the product registration. The purchase date is determined by the invoice date from the professional company¹ (for warranty claims, the craftsman’s invoice and the warranty certificate must be presented). Legal and contractual claims from the contract with a professional company are not affected by this statement. Please note that our extended manufacturer’s warranty does not affect statutory warranty rights, including EU law.

Extended BRUNNER warranty
for heating technology products

1. Requirements for the BRUNNER service/maintenance agreement, including extension of the BRUNNER warranty

  • The product must be properly installed by a professional company¹
  • The product must be used according to the operating instructions
  • The BRUNNER warranty only applies to BRUNNER products purchased through official distribution channels and approved and authorized for the destination country. The BRUNNER warranty is valid and enforceable only in the country where the product was purchased. This requires that the BRUNNER product was intended for sale in that country.

2. What is included in the BRUNNER extended warranty coverage?

BRUNNER offers high-quality, durable, and reliable heating solutions with its pellet boilers, wood log boilers, and heat pumps, which are used almost daily for many years. For this reason, we offer an extended warranty for our pellet boilers, wood log boilers, heat pumps, and system solutions (e.g., heating center BHZ).

When a maintenance agreement is concluded, the warranty is extended to five years. After five years of operation, the BRUNNER warranty expires.
Additional products such as accessories, the BRUNNER Heating Centre (BHZ), return temperature control units, pumps, discharge and storage systems, lifting stations, control units, circuit boards, etc., are not included in the maintenance contract. The warranty period for these items is two years.

3. Warranty coverage

  • 5-year warranty on
    • Heat pump
    • Pellet heater
    • Wood log heater
  • 2-year warranty

4. What do I need to do for the warranty extension?

The maintenance agreement can be concluded either with BRUNNER or with an official BRUNNER craftsman. If the agreement is concluded with BRUNNER, the maintenance appointment is handled through BRUNNER customer service. For maintenance through a craftsman, proof of maintenance must be submitted.

5. Situations not covered by the BRUNNER extended warranty

If defects or damage occur to the product, the customer has no right to repair under this maintenance agreement if

  • the product continues to be used despite the occurrence of a defect
  • aggressive vapors or halogens are present in the ambient or combustion air
  • unsuitable or poor-quality fuels are used
  • damage or operational disturbances are caused by system components not included in the delivery
  • oxygen corrosion or chemical or electrical influences cause damage that is not the responsibility of BRUNNER
  • damage or defects are caused by improper or negligent handling
  • incorrect installation or commissioning by the customer or a third party
  • unproper modifications or repairs are carried out by the customer or a third party
  • damage is caused by not following the operating instructions
  • standards and regulations for the installation and operation of heating systems are not observed
  • the boiler is not used according to its intended purpose for heating a building

In such cases, BRUNNER must be commissioned by the responsible craftsman (paid service order).

Footnotes

1A professional company refers to qualified personnel as defined by:

  • Members of the stove and air heating crafts
  • Individuals/companies that are considered equivalent to the mentioned craft by an exemption from the Chamber of Crafts or have demonstrated corresponding qualification through company training (BRUNNER certificate), as long as the person(s) who obtained the certificate are employed by the company

2 Fireclay plates are custom-made bricks specifically for our combustion chambers. These pre-fired bricks, up to 1100 °C, serve as heat-resistant protection for steel or cast iron combustion chambers and significantly extend their lifespan. Various temperature stresses and mechanical shocks can cause small cracks. Individual cracks in the fireclay lining are normal, harmless, and not a reason for a complaint. Material detachment or distinct star-shaped cracks across multiple layers are not acceptable.

3 BRUNNER uses only industrial-grade glass ceramic products designed for single fireplaces. Their unique properties come from a special manufacturing process called ceramization.

During this process, minor optical imperfections such as fine scratches, solid inclusions, or small air bubbles cannot be fully avoided. These are considered standard and are not grounds for a complaint. The glass ceramic undergoes two quality checks according to the current technical delivery specifications. Unsuitable products are rejected. This primarily concerns dimensional tolerances, curvature, and visual inspection. Optical quality is checked under these conditions:

  • Visual inspection in normal installation position without aids
  • Lighting at approximately 800 Lux – viewing distance > 1 m
  • Light background (color of fireclay bricks)

Up to three air or solid inclusions larger than 4 mm are acceptable; air inclusions with openings to the glass surface larger than 1 mm are not allowed. Decorative defects smaller than 1 mm are permissible.

Glass ceramic with heat-reflective coating has a higher reflection rate, causing ambient light and light sources to reflect more intensely. The visual appearance may vary depending on lighting and viewing angle, with possible greenish or bluish hues caused by interference effects in the coating.

4 Wear refers, according to the withdrawn DIN 50320 (1997), to progressive material loss from the surface of a solid body due to mechanical causes such as contact or relative movement with solid, liquid, or gaseous bodies. In common usage, wear is also equated with other types of abrasion.

5 Quality features of concrete-look casing components (exposed concrete class 2–3):

  • Dimensional tolerances of cast parts:
    • Straightness: ±2 mm/m
    • Length/width/thickness: ±2 mm
    • Squareness: ±2 mm
    • Flatness: ±2.5 mm
    • Surface quality on the visible side:
  • Texture: closed and largely uniform; repair spots with color change and hairline cracks permitted
  • Porosity: max. three holes <10 mm diameter and >10 mm depth (reference area 100×100 mm)
  • Color: large-area light/dark discoloration and cement haze allowed; no rust or dirt spots, no different layer deposits
  • Note: Color deviations (e.g., expansion rings) can be adjusted with a glaze-like coating (recommendation: DecoLasur Matt, tinted in Slate 16, Caparol) using the BRUNNER touch-up set

6 Quality features of raw steel fireplace casing (“black steel”): Untreated steel with irregular surface and visible usage marks (weld discoloration, manufacturing marks, unevenness). Rolled at approx. 1200 °C, forming a natural scale layer with unique patina – intentionally untreated for an authentic look. Surface requirements: Class A1 according to EN 10163-2:2004. Material or manufacturing irregularities up to 0.2 mm depth are unavoidable and not a reason for complaint. Only when exceeding 0.4 mm depth with inspection of the affected area can these be considered a defect. Indoor use only.

7 Combustion chamber components with black coating: The coating may fade or change color in spots under thermal load.
