BRUNNER System fireplaces
The BRUNNER BSK system fireplace can be assembled quickly thanks to its precisely manufactured heat-concrete components. It’s hard to imagine a faster or more cost-effective solution – and yet you don’t have to miss out on individual design options. Even a system fireplace can be customized: the fireplace cladding can be extended, or the heat concrete can simply be plastered or painted.

FAQ System fireplaces
- What are the advantages of a system fireplace compared to a custom-built installation?
While a handcrafted fireplace offers plenty of room for individuality, a system fireplace is more limited in that regard. However, it can be assembled and installed in the living space much more easily. The installer simply puts together the supplied modules, and the system fireplace is ready to use. It delivers the same quality as its custom-built counterpart while saving both time and money.
The best part is that you can still realize your personal design preferences. BRUNNER system fireplaces can be plastered, smoothed, or painted in countless ways. Even steel claddings are possible with selected models. This makes a BRUNNER system fireplace a true alternative – affordable, yet maintaining the same high level of quality.
- What is a system fireplace?
BRUNNER stands for three core values: quality, a passion for craftsmanship, and practical functionality. System fireplaces combine all three in one compact, practical, and high-quality package. Inside, a BRUNNER System Fireplace (BSK) is a genuine BRUNNER fireplace with the same outstanding quality you would expect. However, the outer casing is not individually built by a stove fitter but is made from prefabricated heat-storing concrete elements.
- What does “green” mean for system fireplaces?
The “green” series (e.g. BSK 42-42) includes the new BKH green insert with patented trough combustion, an optional retrofit catalyst and burn control. It falls well below current emission limits – not only in the lab, but also in everyday home operation.
- Can I install a system unit myself?
No – although system fireplaces are designed as kits, they may only be installed by a qualified specialist company. The precisely fitting concrete elements must be assembled professionally, connected to the chimney and operated safely.
- What is the difference between system fireplaces and fireplace inserts?
A system fireplace is a modular fireplace kit with custom-made heat-concrete elements, combined with a fireplace insert. It can be assembled within a few hours, offers large glass fronts, quick heat output and flexible surface design. A fireplace insert, by contrast, is supplied without the finished concrete casing. In other words: system fireplace = insert + cladding/kit, insert = only the inner part.
