The Features
- 1. Practical design
The boiler can be easily removed from the transport pallet without special tools. In most cases, it can be moved into place without removing the boiler casing. The door hinge side can be changed without any modification to the drive components.
- 2. Emissions and efficiency
The emission levels are far below the strict legal limits without the need for additional separators or filters. The log boilers reliably meet the limits of the 1st BImSchV, Stage 2, for carbon monoxide and dust. BRUNNER’s patented side-burn technology ensures low emissions and maximum efficiency.
- 3. Compatibility for complete heating solutions
The boiler control board comes standard with integrated control for the boiler, heating circuits, domestic hot water, solar, and an optional auxiliary heat source such as an existing gas or oil boiler. In combination with the BRUNNER heating center, the BSV log boiler can be expanded and combined in many ways: domestic hot water via a fresh water station, additional heating circuits, and the use of surplus solar power through PV integration. All of this is managed through a single control unit and a unified user interface. With just one look at the glass touch display, you can see all key parameters — from boiler status to buffer temperatures. The clear and intuitive layout makes operating the entire heating system effortless.
- 4. Heating with biomass
The boiler is loaded with firewood logs measuring half a meter in length. With a footprint of just under one square meter, the compact log boiler fits easily into even the smallest boiler rooms. The renewable resource wood is becoming increasingly important – heating with biomass is fully in line with the times and is supported by the government through attractive incentives for heating system replacement.
- 5. Automatic, standard ignition
BRUNNER log boilers come equipped with automatic ignition as standard. They deliver rapid heat on demand at the desired time, with minimal power consumption and low standby losses.
- 6. Solid cast-iron door and large loading chamber
The large loading chamber opening makes filling the boiler with half-meter logs especially convenient. With a chamber volume of 170 liters (around 60 kg of beech wood), heating comfort is enhanced through long burn durations and extended refueling intervals.
The automatic ignition, standard on all models, combined with the exceptionally large loading chamber, ensures top-level comfort. Once the buffer tank is fully charged after one burn cycle, the chamber can be refilled completely. When the buffer temperature drops below a set threshold, the boiler automatically ignites again to recharge the buffer. This effectively doubles the reheating interval – perfect for a carefree winter weekend away.
- 7. Automatic door locking
An extra level of safety: the combustion chamber door of our log boilers only opens when the system is in a safe operating state. Accidental opening during the burn cycle – with the risk of flames or flue gases escaping – is therefore completely prevented.
- 8. Comfortable heating
BRUNNER log gasification boilers feature an integrated ignition mechanism. Operating the cleaning system and loading the 40–80 kg of firewood are manual steps – after that, everything runs automatically. When heat is needed, combustion starts and is precisely controlled with low emissions over a period of about 5 to 10 hours. In winter, the boiler is typically fired daily or every other day. Notifications for cleaning and ash removal appear on the touch display in good time.
- 9. Ample space for heating water buffer tank
During the burn cycle, a log boiler produces significantly more heat than is immediately needed. To ensure a continuous heat supply, heating water buffer tanks with a total volume of 2,000 to 4,000 liters are installed as thermal reservoirs. Excess heat is collected and stored there, then distributed through the heating system as required.
- 10. Easy to maintain
The BSV operates remarkably quietly and is designed for low-maintenance performance. With the integrated ash drawer, ash removal is effortless. Naturally, the boiler notifies you via the control unit or smartphone when cleaning or maintenance is due.
Almost all components are accessible from the front. Behind the central service door, the ignition element and actuators are easy to reach. The manual lever for mechanical heat exchanger cleaning can be mounted on either the left or right side.
- 11. Simple and intuitive operation
BRUNNER boilers feature an integrated touch display that provides an instant overview of the current heating situation in the building. Through the intuitive graphical interface, all heating functions – not just those of the boiler – can be conveniently controlled.
An optional second display with a white or black glass front can be installed in the living area or entrance hall, providing a quick overview of the heating status at any time.
Thanks to online access via “my heating,” the familiar display view is reproduced in full detail. After registering with myBRUNNER and installing the app, you can access your heating system anytime from any internet-enabled device.
- 12. Clean, timeless design
In the truest sense of the word, this system is award-winning – honored with the Iconic Award “Best of Best.” BRUNNER log boilers are high-quality constructions made of durable cast iron, manufactured in-house.

Practical notes on the log wood boiler
Combustion is regulated by a lambda sensor, a speed-controlled exhaust fan, and electronically operated air flaps. This ensures optimal fuel utilization and enhances combustion quality. The heat exchanger cleaning system maintains consistent efficiency of the heat exchanger.
Air flaps with actuators, the ignition unit, and the combustion chamber are visible and individually accessible from the front, making maintenance exceptionally easy. The combination of lambda sensor control and electronically managed air flaps results in emissions that are significantly below current legal limits.
