Our wood-burning fireplaces and stoves reflect decades of experience, extensive knowlegde and genuine craftsmanship.
All BRUNNER products are engineered in Germany.
More than 160 employees work in the development and sales departement. Since 2013, we’ve also been designing and building complete heating systems at our headquarters in Eggenfelden.
Our Philosophy
We care more about quality than hype.
Right from the beginning, company founder Martin Brunner was driven by one goal: to build honest, high-quality and long-lasting products. That’s what BRUNNER stands for since more than 70 years and that will remain our guiding principle for the future.
Every fireplace, tiled stove or boiler that leaves our factory reflects our spirit of innovation, technical expertise, precision and – above all – genuine passion. At BRUNNER, we take the time to develop each product properly. Because that’s what it takes to create a reliable, fully refined heating system. That’s the standard we set for ourselves – and the essence of the BRUNNER brand.
The BRUNNER Story
Over 70 years of BRUNNER
Just one year after the end of World War II, stove builder Martin Brunner and his brother founded the “Brunner kitchen stove factory Eggenfelden.” Even back then, BRUNNER was committed to creating products built to last.
One of their first innovations was the so-called “Ökonomieherd” – a multifunctional cooker that not only prepared meals, but also served as a heating system based on the gravity circulation principle.
Water circulated through thick pipes without the need for a circulation pump – driven solely by temperature-related differences in water density. This meant the system worked even during power outages. That was the beginning of: “Heizen auf bayerisch.”
In 1979, Ulrich Brunner – son of the company’s founder –began to build and design inserts. Many innovations and milestones in the stove and fireplace business were achieved through Ulrich Brunner.
BRUNNER was the first manufacturer to launch a tiled stove insert without a grate: the HBO. This was followed by the first fireplace with a heat-retaining surface and the first tiled stove featuring a large glass pane.
In the early 1990s, BRUNNER introduced the first electronic stove control system (EOS/EAS) to automatically regulate the combustion process.
We were also the first to develop a heating system that intelligently combined energy flows from the sun, water and wood – known as DAVID.With the depression safety cut-off switch (USA), BRUNNER provided a safe solution for operating tiled stoves alongside modern ventilation systems.
And these are just a few examples of the creativity and engineering spirit that define BRUNNER and its people.
One key factor in BRUNNER’s long-standing success is our conscious and courageous willingness to navigate uncharted waters. At BRUNNER, we call it “driving without a rearview mirror” – because our focus is always forward. That’s why we pay close attention to how society is evolving – and which new needs are emerging as a result. Needs that deserve meaningful solutions. Since 2013, we’ve been manufacturing pellet boilers and log wood boilers at our Eggenfelden site – expanding the possibilities of wood-fired heating far beyond stoves and fireplaces.
BRUNNER stays BRUNNER
2020: A family business in its third generation – company handed over to Hubertus Brunner
With Hubertus Brunner, the third generation has now taken its place in the family business.
He is proud of the company’s heritage – because BRUNNER stands for both innovation and long-standing tradition. The company continues to inspire the craft sector with new ideas – and that won’t change in the future. Born in 1986, Hubertus Brunner grew up in the small Bavarian town Schönau. From an early age, he developed a deep connection to wood-fired heating and farming. Later, he went on to study industrial engineering – a degree that prepared him well for his future role in the company.
Many long-standing employees have known Hubertus since he was a child. He grew into the business alongside his father, Ulrich Brunner – and quite literally grew up with the people who work here. When the company was officially handed over to him in July 2020, he certainly stepped into big shoes. We admire how he continues to rise to the challenge – always grounded, always human. And of course, we all work together to keep BRUNNER successful and growing – just like a big BRUNNER family.
Quality comes at a price:
BRUNNER stands for the highest quality standards
High-quality craftsmanship & durability
Of course, a wood-burning insert from BRUNNER comes at a price.
But in our experience, the cheaper solution has never been the better one.
And we stand by that – because BRUNNER appliances are built to last, with outstanding craftsmanship and premium materials.
Today, more than a million households worldwide enjoy the warmth and comfort of a BRUNNER fireplace.
Their owners know: BRUNNER stands for robust materials, flawless workmanship and advanced, time-tested technology.

innovation & Sustainability
With teamwork and attention to detail
It would be dishonest to say that we don’t pay attention to pricing when working on quality.
But what matters even more to us are the needs and expectations of our customers.
That’s why our number one goal is to create a product that’s honest and well made.
Function always comes first. The result is not something we simply like – but something our customers truly want.
At the same time, anyone developing innovative products must also be open to support and input.
Exceptional ideas rarely come from one person alone. That’s why we believe in collaboration.
We work closely together with the best partners in craftmanship – and we listen carefully when our partners share their experience and outline what really matters in practice.
This is how we ensure that every BRUNNER product is designed, built, tested and installed to the best of our knowledge and with full integrity.
Honest. And genuinely, genuinely good.

The BRUNNER Family
BRUNNER’s success is built on its people – and that’s something we’re all proud of, from the top down.
Employees are the most important value of any company – an essential part of long-term success.
No one achieves anything alone. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and no one is equipped to master every challenge on their own.
Those who overestimate themselves and believe they can do without the expertise and input of others risk losing perspective – and humility.
At BRUNNER, our employees are more than just “co-workers.”
They bring heart and mind, responsibility and respect, creativity and joy to everything they do.
Whether in design or logistics, every team member at BRUNNER is given the freedom to grow into their role, take ownership and develop their skills over time.
Each individual is encouraged to explore their talents, work with intelligence and enthusiasm, and find meaning in what they do.
This people-centered philosophy extends beyond our company – to our customers and skilled trade partners as well.
There’s a reason we like to call it the BRUNNER family.
