Pellet module

For how long will my pellet stock last?

Pellet stock, pellet module by BrunnerThis question is important if your stove has to keep your home warm while you are away. Depending on the insulation of the building and capacity of the holding tank, assuming a heating requirment of 6 kW and 123 kg of pellets inside the tank, you could leave your house for seven days.

What is the annual consumption of pellets?

For the automatic loading holding tank, a frequently asked question is what size does the fabric silo need to be. This depends on how often logs are used as fuel - in other words, what is the total average weight of logs put on the fire every day during the cold season.
For busy families, the stove is usually stoked once a day with approx. 10 kg of wood. If this daily heat load is not enough, automatic feeding of pellets starts.

If we imagine a building requiring 6 kW of heat, where 10 kg of pinewood is burnt every day (in Munich, where the average cold season is 255 days long, this equals approx. 7 cubic meters of wood annually), an additional 1000 kg of pellets will be required to cover the yearly heat demand.
